The Short Version

We use Google Analytics on this website to count page visits, with every advertising feature switched off. Memorial pages carry no analytics at all. We do not sell or share your details with anyone. If you fill in a form, what you write reaches us as an email.

What You Send Us

Both forms on this site ask for your name, your email address, your phone number, and whatever you want to tell us. The form on the start page also asks what you are hoping to build and whether the service is this week. The support form asks which memorial you are writing about.

We use your details to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list.

How We Keep Bots Off the Forms

The forms use a check from Cloudflare called Turnstile. When you submit, your browser sends Cloudflare a token and your IP address so it can tell that you are a person. We do not see or store your IP address. Cloudflare handles that check and tells us only whether it passed.

How We Know Where You Came From

When you arrive, this site writes one small record in your own browser. It notes which website sent you, which page you landed on, and any campaign tag in the web address. If you later fill in a form, that record is sent along with it, so we know which pages are worth writing.

Analytics on This Website

This website uses Google Analytics so we can see which pages people read and which ones lead someone to write to us. It tells us how many people visited a page. It does not tell us who you are.

Advertising features are switched off. If your browser asks us not to store anything on your device, we do not.

A way to choose this for yourself is coming. Until it is here, the strictest setting applies to anyone whose browser asks for it.

Who Else Sees Your Details

Three companies help us run this website, and each one sees only the part it needs.

• Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the bot check. Like every web host, it records the usual details of a request, such as your IP address and which page you asked for.
• SendGrid, part of Twilio, delivers the email your form message becomes.
• Google holds our mailbox through Google Workspace, which is where your message arrives, and provides the analytics described above. Analytics runs on this website only, not on a memorial.

Those three, and no one else today. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. If that changes, this page changes with it.

Memorial Pages Are Different

A memorial you build carries no third-party analytics. Someone who visits a memorial to read about a person who died is not measured by us.

A memorial also sits on its own web address and has its own settings, including who can see it. A family chooses that, not us.

We are in Austin, Texas, and the companies above handle your details in the United States. If you write to us from another country, your message travels here.
